Best Toy Ever

I had this toy as a child, the Fisher Price School Desk.  I played with it for hours.  Even as a teenager I had it on display in my room, writing out messages with the letters.  What happened to mine, I don’t know, but over the years I would see it at garage sales, but it was always missing pieces.  Then last Saturday in my quest to find the next best treasure, there it was, complete, with all the letters, cards and the tray, sitting on a shelf like a misfit toy in Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer just waiting for Santa to bring it to a good girl or boy!  ME!!  I was the good girl! No chubby man in a red suit, middleman required! I snatched it like the Hamburglar in the old McDonalds commercials (dating myself with the reference) and away I went!

I was six all over.  I lined up all the letters of the alphabet, loaded and unloaded the tray, spelled a few words, smiling the whole time!   Such a simple thing that brought total joy!

Did you have this toy, did you love it?  What cherished toy did you have? Share with me in the comments.  Next, I think it’s time to find Strawberry Shortcake, Holly Hobby or maybe Baby Alive…
