End of the Season
I love the thrill of the hunt, talking with the sellers, hearing stories on some of the things that I’m buying, negotiating price, going all day, and spending very little. But the best part is my sidekick. My husband Ross, who is not a junker, goes with every time! We fill our travel mugs with coffee, he navigates and looks up addresses he patiently makes a U-turn when I yell there’s one to the left! He’s a champ. He knows how much I love it, how directionally challenged I am (seriously if the house on corner ever changes their paint color I’m not sure I could make it out of my own neighborhood), and he knows that we will most likely stop and get a treat at one of our favorite local bakeries! He’s a true keeper
Here is a small sampling of my summer bounty. Over the next few days, I will be showing you how I used and incorporated them into my décor. To get this started check out my rag wreath. This was a super great find! I was at a mega sale; you know the kind – double car garage just overflowing with junkie goodness! Boxes upon boxes on the floor when I spotted a box full of cloth. I knew in an instant I could do something with them! Did I mention it was a dollar?
Here’s how easy it comes together – cut the cloth into strips and tie around a wire wreath that you can pick up for around two dollars. So, save those outgrown, stained, and outdated shirts, rip up denim! Think about each season and holiday. After I did the multi-colored one, I did a white and cream version using bedsheets, napkins, and an old tablecloth. The possibilities are endless.
